Info :

Based in Whitehorse, nestled in the sprawling landscape of the Yukon, Rob Dickson is a singer-songwriter, a husband, and afather. Through an autobiographical lens, Dickson reveals himself with a sound that is both raw and modest, inviting reflection on the human condition, inviting us to consider the people we become as we grow up.

Chronicling the unique beauty and uncertainty of moving into adulthood, Dickson's debut album, Proof of Our Years, is an ode to growth. Between 2013 and 2015, in his mid-twenties, Dickson finished school, began a full-time job, got married, moved into a new home, and started a family. Out of this period of extreme change grew a collection of songs, each stemming from and responding to the inherent challenges and immense joys of growing older, growing a partnership, and raising a child into being. With wisdom and clarity beyond his years, Dickson describes both the doubt and the wonder, imprinting his songwriting with honesty and pure emotion. He approaches his songs with a tender grasp, imbuing the clear sentiment of his writing with the nuanced intensity of his voice. Produced by Toronto's James Bunton (Donovan Woods, Evening Hymns), Proof of Our Years is spacious and magnetic, revelatory in its unaffected account of finding oneself on the other side of youth, and resonant in its embrace of the exquisite imperfection of love.
